News & Information
N.P. United
League Meeting, May 6, 2002. The meeting was called to
order by Jerry McClatchey. We had nearly 25 in attendance for our
first meeting. Introductions were made by Jerry McClatchey,
Coaching Director Dana Merrick, Vice President & referee assignor
for the league.
Nancy Archer and Erin Archer who represent the President and
Treasurer positions were not available but Dana did announce they
would be stepping down at the end of the spring 2002 season.
After nearly four years of being involved and starting the
league, they have set the foundation of N.P. United for us to
build on.
Changes implemented this spring season were: Coaching clinics and
meetings, Team Representatives, Concession trailer with team
duties to man the trailer on Saturdays, Parking changing along
the road, FIFA licensed referees used at games, and restrooms
opened on Saturday mornings.
The main purpose of the meeting was to get more people involved
or otherwise risk the chance that the league would not be around
in the Fall 2002. As an incentive program to get folks involved,
Jerry proposed changes to the fee structure for Fall 2002. The
resultant small increase in player fees will cover the discounts
offered for those participating in volunteer duties of helping
run the teams and program.
The fall registration fees will be:
-

-
U8 & Up $60.00
-
More than one child

We still need to
find some one to head the registration committee.
The first meeting of the new board will be Monday June 3rd at
7:00 p.m. in Dana Merrick's classroom. All N.P.United parents are
welcomed to attend.
Other items discussed:
U6 Parents like the early morning schedules. The Trophy and
Metals alternates we pass out in fall and spring are liked as
they are. Don't need too many trophies. There is a still hope of
a central park being development in Sugar Creek Township so we
can expand our space as we grow. We may move into the field next
to the junior varsity field as our next step.
Next falls schedules will be better staggered so we won't
concession schedule problems as well as help with the parking
shortage.
Uniform colors need to be different other than all blues, reds
and greens. Each age group need to be separate to help parents
locate their teams. There are about 20 colors we can use. Uniform
committee will address this in fall.
A web site will be developed by John Fox. Possible online soccer
registration next Spring.
Meeting was adjourned at 8:40 p.m.
