N.P. United – Used Soccer Equipment Program
As we all know, our children grow quickly and often require soccer gear replacement. In addition, they regularly advanced to the next highest age group and begin using larger sized soccer balls. After speaking with both members of the Board and with parents at last season’s games, it became clear that it frustrated parents to discard perfectly good equipment after making such a significant investment.
Beginning with the Spring 2005 season, N.P. United is beginning a new program that is designed to benefit the league and the parents. These benefits include the following:
· Generate additional revenues for the league
· Give parents an outlet to dispose of quality equipment that has simply been outgrown
· Give parents an alternative source for purchasing quality, soccer equipment at a low cost
In order for the program to work appropriately, the Board is requesting that parents begin to donate any unwanted equipment that currently remains unused. This may be accomplished by contacting us or simply bringing the gear to the concession stand at Saturday’s games and placing the merchandise in the provided bin.
Examples of equipment that could be donated are as follows:
Soccer Balls Cleats
Shin Guards Apparel
Shorts Any other soccer related item or accessory
The equipment will be regularly inventoried, categorized, priced, and will be displayed during the first 2 weeks of each soccer season.
Again, I stress that the program’s success is heavily reliant on the participation/donations of the family members in our league. We look forward to serving everyone and having a great season!
